Die Zwergcichliden Südamerikas by Werner Schmettkamp, 1982 (out of print)
Hi Mike i got the above book coming got it for $10 Can you pm me price on the translation My email is [email protected]
Sincerely Curtis
This is Matzusaka's book and yes I have a copy of it. It is fairly complete (for 1996) and includes photosof unusual populations of species . It is all in Japanese except the scientific names, which are in Latin/Greek. The book has some of the best apisto photos anywhere. It's worth owning just for the pictures.

Like I wrote in my PM, wait until you get the book. Then we can get you the translation. I can't provide a translation to anyone until they own the book.

Let me know if you have MS Word and if it uses the old .doc or later .docx. I'll email you a translation.

OK, I now have some prices for everyone:

(1) Die Buntbarsche Amerikas - Apistogramma & Co. (in German): US$31.00
(This is now ½ its original price!)

(2) Cichlids of the Americas - Apistogramma & Co. (English Translation of above book): US$25.00
To buy this book, you must prove to me that you own either (1) or (3).

(3) South American Dwarf Cichlids (Datz Special Publication in German & English): US$31.00

(4) All 3 books: US$80.00

(5) Books 1 + 2: US$50.00

(6) Books 2 + 3: US$50.00

Postage is extra. In the USA, "Book Rate" postage & handling is $3 extra.

For other countries air mail rates are:

For Canada (via air mail):
(1): US$8.25; (2) $6.00; (3): $4.75; (4) $17.75; (5) $16.75; (6) $8.50
(via surface mail)
(1): US$7.00; (2) $5.50; (3): $5.00; (4) $16.50; (5) $9.00; (6) $7.00

(1): US$19.00; (2) $15.00; (3): $11.75; (4) $25.00; (5) $26.00; (6) $21.50.

For anyone who has purchaced a book from me & wants to buy one of the others, I will discount the price. Right now I have no way of accepting anything but checks (in the USA) and money transfers (Western Union). This isn't a mony making operation for me. I just want to let you get the books.

Anyone interested in buying any of the above, please email me with your requests & questions at my home email address: [email protected]. Too many people sent PMs the last time & my mail box here at the forum filled & I lost some messages trying to save them.
Hi.Mike
I would like to have 3 sets of no4 series, and shipping to Taiwan.
The shop has books in stock?

Ap. Wu, I am sorry but this is a 10 year old post. I no longer sell books. The publisher (Ulmer Verlag) only offers volume 3. Volumes 1 & 2 appear to be 'out of print'. I will provide an English translation (electronic copy) of Volume 2 and the dwarf cichlids found in Volume 3 to those who can prove that they have a copy of these books.

Hi Mike,

One more on this topic. In the section of your 10 year old post shown below you indicated that you can provide the English translation of Cichlids of the Americas - Apistogramma & Co if you own either (1) or (3).

I just got my hard copy of the DATZ Sudamerikanische Zwergcichliden/South American Dwarf Cichlids yesterday. If that allows you to sell me an electronic copy of the English translation of (2) then I'd be very interested.

Sorry, but you have to own the original book. Due to copyright laws I can't sell what isn't mine. I am actually offering a translation service.

Thanks Mike. It sounded too good to be true. I'll buy the German copy when I'm back in Europe next Spring. My German is probably still good enough to read it.

Electronic copy - free! You can print your own copy if you want. It will cost about $15 from a print shop or half that on your own printer.
