ok this female was sold to me as a female Apistogramma hongsloi but does not look like any females of that species i have seen...

according to my book and web research the female should have more of a yellow-ish coloring

she is more blue-gray...

thoughts?

Looking at the red on the base of the belly I would say hongsloi. Maybe male.
It could also be macmasteri.

i doubt that she is male... she acts like a female and the male hongsloi is courting her like a female...

They are both male A. hongsloi...

one is dominant, therefore bigger and more colorful than the other.
