Hi there,

I know the company you are refering to, I received a CD from them last week with their stock images for the Apisto's you have listed, will upload them tonight when I get home.

In the mean time:

Ap. huallaga > Apistogramma baenschi (Inka)
Ap. galaxis > Apistogramma sp Papagei

sanchez is a bitaeniata type and Blue is in the pebas group.
As far as getting fish from Aquarium Lima, don't. I used to get fish from them (it's been about 5 years though), but the quality is so bad and the mis-identification I can't afford to do it any more. Once I ordered 10 species of Apistos, They sent me 9 bags of eunotus all labeled differently and another bag of little grey fish I never figured out what they were. Nothing was what I ordered. They'll throw 150 fish in one bag and half will be DOA, bad packing and sick fish that are mis-labled. My current Peruvian supplier sends all fish individually bagged and a 50/50 sex ratio. DOA's are usually under 2%. I pay maybe 10-15 cents more per fish, but man is it worth it. When you're bringing in a 1,000 Apistos at a time you want to get what you ordered. Ken

As promised, images from the supplier. Now if anyone would care to correct their identification.....

Ap. acosta (I'll assume is an Ap. bitaeniata colour morph)

Ap. bimbo

Ap. blue

I can only echo Ken's sentiments, I've tried them and won't go back to them. On saying that it was nice to receive a CD with images of most of the fish (not just the apisto's) that regularily appear on their list.

I agree with Andrew's ID of A. acosta. It is A. bitaeniata. A. sp. Bimbo = A. sp. Nanay/Melgar (not Römer's A. sp. Nanay = A. sp. Parrot/Papagei). Ken is right on his ID of A. sp. Blue. It is a Pebas form.
