My male apisto that is. He's really coloring up so pretty though. Right now he's attacking the glo lites. Yesterday he killed one :x . One female is going from being brilliant yellow to dull so I think she's possibley getting ready. He keeps herding the tetras to the other side of the tank. The other female is not as yellow but she has a darker stripe and chases the yellower one.

What species are we talking about here? One thing's for sure, it sounds like you are going to have breeding in your tank, if you haven't already!

He's a Cacatuoides...

triple red. He has quite a personality too. He's flaring up at everything and shaking at the females. I think one of them is close to being ready. She's very yellow but she's not guarding any particular spot. Although she does seem to like one side better. The only other fish in this tank are the tetras and three cories and he will chase them all. I'm planning on moving the cories this weekend. I've been feeding mainly frozen brine shrimp and frozen bloodworms and alternating them with flake food. When the tank top opens they all are coming to the top to eat. I must say I was worried about keeping apistos but its official now. I'm hooked! I'm even in the planning stages for a 75g. Then I'd like to try my hand at some other apistos.

I too have a 75g that serves as an S/A community tank. I have several dwarf species occupying it now and the interaction among the group is incredible to watch. Best of luck.
