I need to start by saying I've never had a problem sexing kribs before, but these two act exactly like a pair even though I think they both look female.

Any help on this issue would be appreciated:

First - two pictures of the fish together:

The smaller krib:

The bigger krib:

So, what do you all think?

I'm not sure why it won't open for you...it is large (5 MB) - and it looks like 5 people "who aren't me" (according to Flickr) have been able to view it.

Anyone else able to get into the pic or is it locked to everyone else?

Edit: I just checked it at work from IE and it opens right up...and I cannot log into Flickr from work so it's not that Flickr recognizes my machine. Maybe it was the size of the image?

Works now. Who knows what and why things happen out there i the digital world!

Yes, two females. I will give you that the fish pictured on the left has some male features, but the tail pattern is all female. Not to mention the dorsal spotting which is typical female as well.

Thanks Jeff...that's what I thought as well, and is supported by their "first" batch of eggs being unfertilized. Since they chose each other at the LFS, I'm not going to mess with their arrangement by adding a male unless they split up. :)

Another trick in sexing questionable PELVICACHROMIS specimens is that males tend to have normal looking pelvic fins & females have what Jim Langhammer describes as 'hockey puck' shaped pelvics...
