Hello - New to the hobby

Hi all,

I'm from Malaysia and I've caught the Apisto bug.

I've got a pair of Macmasteri in my 3 foot planted aquarium. My female has made a nest under a rock and keeps approaching the male. The male however doesn't seem to show any interest in the female whatsoever. Is this normal behaviour? How do I get them to pair up?

Really looking forward to learning from everyone here.

First, welcome to our forum. I think that your A. macmasteri are behaving normally. Males are not very choosy about mates. He will eventually understand that the female is ready to breed and do his "job". Give the pair a little bit of time, good water quality & good food. You should see results within about a month.

thanks for the welcome and advice.

I guess I'll just have to be patient and let nature take its course. In the meantime however, I'm already planning my next purchase.
