Hi All,

I just brought home a pair of A. caucatoides, it's a 38g planted tank, co2 injected, Onyx sand substrate. My Kh is 7, Gh 11, Ph 7. Do I need to lower everything or will this be okay?

:D

Should be fine for A. caucatoides. They might like things a little softer, but they're not an Apisto that demands it for health (few do) or breeding. I expect they'll do great and will probably spawn in time. Have fun.

What would be a good population of A. cacatuoides for this tank?

I have 2 brisltenose, a few otto's, and a few SAE's. I know the lfs has at least one more female. It looks like they need some more company.

I would suggest up to three females and one male for the tank, depending on the number of hiding spots. They'll get along great with all your bottom feeders, but will be a bit territorial among themselves. I would scoop up the last female from the LFS and go from there.

You could also try another Apisto pair or maybe some rams...but I'm not sure what a good balance would be for your size tank.

Thanks,

there's plenty of broken clay pots for caves, but, no other bottom feeders except for quite a few MTS. I will probably add 3 or 4 cory's and the other female A. cacatuoides.
