I am getting over run with cockatoo babies!! After my long period of drought raising these little guys I started stealing the eggs before they ate them. this yeilded around 200 fry free swimming as we speak. So I decided to stop stealing them thinking I had enough and the parents would eat the rest. Well guess what, there not eating them!! I have 2 more huge spawns and they are not eating the eggs this time. What have I gotten myself into? What am I going to do with all these fry?

I might be able to take them out of town and sell them. My lfs is pretty small and I don't think they could keep them alive. I will ship them if I have to put an add on aquabid or somthing.

The problem with selling them to LFS is that most will want young adult specimens. The same is true for people on AquaBid. This means at least 4 to 6 months of care.

I have the room for growing them out I think. I have 2 10gal for when they are small and when they get to a reasonable size I will move them to a 55 for the final few months. I am definatly in this for the experience and to help finance my predator fish food bill. I don't wish to make a profit I just didn't expect this many all at once.

You could always feed some to your predators, this would kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I used to have an arrowanna that didn't have a problem eating my over abundance of livebearers. Just a thought.
