Yes you can, they will filter feed any suitably sized particle from the water column. I've fed Daphnia with Spirulina and Paprika powder, but I'm not sure it really makes them any better for the fish. <http://www.brineshrimpegg.com/apps/blog/entries/show/3180204-raising-brine-shrimp-to-adult> & <http://www.brineshrimpdirect.com/Enriching-with-Spirulina-c89.html>.

You can buy HUFA rich foods specifically for feeding Brine Shrimps. If you are interested in raising BBS and other life food, I'd recommend Mike Hellweg's book "Culturing Live Food" <http://www.amazon.com/Culturing-Live-Foods-Step-Step/dp/0793806550>. It has a good chapter on BBS.

I read somewhere that baby brine shrimp don't start feeding until after their first molt. If you let the shrimp molt and feed, then you're wasting the rich yolk-like content of the newborn shrimp, which is mostly lost after the first molt. However, if you're maintaining a culture of brine shrimp to feed older fry and adults, then yes the "gut-loading" may be worthwhile. Philodina rotifers and Moina may also be suitable for enriching with those supplements.

If you have a sand substrate you can feed supplement powders like that directly into your tank. The food will settle on the sand and the apistos will eat it as they chew through the sand.
You can make a suspension of your food with a little water and use a small pipette or syringe to squirt it onto sandy areas. Just need to be careful with the dosing so that you don't have too much uneaten food impacting o your water quality

i have read about haematochrom powder that it can not dissolve in water, it can only dissolve in oil. just not sure if i can add it to the hatching bottle.
