Female keeps eating eggs and fries

My friend has a pair of A.A blue flame which they are still young but mature. Female laid eggs 4 times which she ate the eggs after a while but only one time the fries could get to free swimming and she ate them again. Male was taken away after eggs are laid each time and the female was alone in the tank. Is it a habit or something is missing.

Temperature 26
Ph 5.8
Tds 30
15 gallon tank with hardscape with live plants

she doesnt see other fish
Not my implication. A rack has a lot of possible problems not every fish takes the same way. Commotion in front iof the tank, vibrations... Also... what is the fish fed?

I mean... we're talking about a domestic breed that doesn't appear in nature. These fish have been created through linebreeding. So they are genetically a bit like the Habsburgs. Completely f'ed up.

I might suggest that since the female recently became sexually mature, she is unskilled at assessing her eggs/clutch. It might take her a few more attempts.

It could be worth leaving the male in until a feeding routine is established with freeswimming fry. The male might provide some territorial comfort to the female. The constant removal and reintroduction might be causing stress.

My nijsseni complex/Panduro female tolerated the male for quite a while. I actually removed them together when female demonstrated aggression first at about 3-4 weeks.

At first, the female showed mild aggression to the male at about 2 weeks. At 3-4, she then showed disinterest in the fry and wasn't caretaking as much. Towards the end, she was aggressive with the male and fry and could be seen displaying to the male to breed again.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
