I have a female orange flash cac needs some help and I'm hoping some
of you on the forum can help me help her. She was in great condition
last Thursday. She was in breeding colors and had a very plump little
belly, flashing and curling her body to her mate. I was sure they were
going to spawn. Yesterday, I saw nothing had happened and her belly
was still very swollen.http://www.forum.apistogramma.com/images/icons/icon9.gif She just sits on the bottom of the tank, she
wont eat, I can't tell if she's pooped because the gravel is so much the
same color as them. I've tried to feed her live brine shrimp, frozen blood-
worms and she just ignores them, He's no picking on her, more or less
ignoring her.

Now, someone out there has bound to have experienced the same problem
and found a resolution. Please, can anyong help?? http://www.forum.apistogramma.com/images/icons/icon5.gif Thanksfor your help.

You might try jacking up the temp. She may be constipated. I do not feed apistogramma bloodworms unless they are chopped up very small. Bloodworms have a tendency to bind apistos up. High temp or blanched peas "might" help

With all due respect to Chris, I don't buy constipation in fish. It isn't likely an egg bound female either.
My guess is the fish has an internal infestation or infection of worms or bacteria caused disease. Your fish will likely continue to be lethargic, get fatter then just die. This happens a lot with Apistogramma.
