Help! Lockjaw cures?

I recently got a pair of Apistogramma Borelli. They had been doing very well, until last week I noticed the female couldn’t close her mouth, and seemed to be struggling. They are quite a young pair and have just reached sexual maturity. She never seems stressed although, I believe the male was chasing her at night probably and she possibly injured her jaw in the chase. I am 99% sure she has lockjaw and I have read there is little I can do. Is there any hope she will make it? Anything I can do to help?

If the jaw is dislocated you sadly can't do anything. If the fish hasn't readjusted its jaw within 8-10 days it is basically over.
Sorry.

Thanks, should I take her out of the tank? (It’s only her and the male in there right now). I’ve never euthanized a fish before, should it be considered?

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
