It really is as simple as that is where they are bred. You may also see Czech blue rams.
The species is the same as wild (South American) blue rams, but several generations of breeding in European harder water conditions may have made them more suited to hard water. The latter point is debatable.

Thanks for anwsering my question I was fairly certain that a Ducth blue ram was a name the breeder came up with but I also thought that just may be they crossed a blue ram with a gold ram and then came with the name in order to sell them.

Dutch (Holland) Blue Rams (closer to wild type then the German strain which should have the big blue shoulder marking. The Dutch strain seems to have a lot more red to them then a wild type though)

I like that strain, but have never seen them until now. As Jeff said they do look like a wild-type Orinoco ram with exceptionally nice color. "German" rams on the other hand look more un-natural to me.

I have not seen any other than pictures I also thought maybe they where a cross between a German blue ram and a neon blue ram.I have always wanted to try to get a German blue ram and a neon blue ram to spawn but have a problem getting the neon blue rams to live long enough to get a spawn

Hello Aquaticclarity, thanks for the information. What we can be Dutch blue Rams in the gender segregation of the pictures you show? Because, as you know, all the Rams is amongst the most difficult to do gender. These photos are enough, do you think?
