Different types/ strains breeding?

Hi everyone. Im new to this forum and new to rams. I have 2 german blues and 3 bolivian red rams.... I breed angelfish and I have for several years now. I was just wondering, could a german blue ram breed with a bolivian red, or do they only mate with their own type? What would result if they did breed together? Thanks for the help!!

Hi Dan, welcome to the apisto forum.

I highly doubt that the 2 species of Rams will cross. The species have been separated from each other for probably millions of years. They have become so different that I can't see a cross being viable. A cross between Mikrogeophagus altispinosus and M. sp. Zweifleck might be possible.
