Hi everyone,

I search since many time pics and informations about Dicrossus maculatus biotope, unfortunately i'm not lucky.

I have since many weeks some D. maculatus. I'm pretty sur to have 1 male and 2 females.

They are in a 60 litres tank with one little Echinodorus parviflorus, fine sand, one wood (not the good word, but I think you'll understand) and 4 lava stone.

Do you think that I must put some oak leaves or not?

I want to recreate as good as possible their original biotope.

Actually my water parameters are :

KH : impossible to mess
pH : 4.8

I've a lot of stream in my tank and some plants in the bottom of the tank.

Thank you for your help.

Sébastien

Dicrossus maculatus is a fish found in whitewater streams among leaf litter, bog wood, & aquatic plants. They require moderately acid (pH 5.8), soft (arround 5º) dH water for breeding. Your water values are not necessary.
