I monitored my tank this morning during the usual morning feed, and to my surprise i noticed a speck moving around the bottom of the tank. On closer inspection i noticed that it was in fact a baby apisto aggi's, then there was another and another. So far i have spotted three babies.

This caused me great excitement, as i have been doing tank side vigals for the past few weeks, and never saw any sign of eggs. ( Strange fish these aggie's - but we love em ).

I would like to give great thanks to all the people that have helped via their postings on the forum to lead to this ( My First ) success story.

Though as a now excited apisto aggi father, i have yet another question. So here goes

The babies that i have spotted this morning are about 10mm in length

1. How old do you imagine they are?

2. Do i need to feed them Brine Shrimp?
( As i current have sponge filters which is a good source of small molecules for the fry )

3. The tank currently has another 3 Females ( not inc Mother ) and one male, also 3 Zebra Danio Dither fish. Who do i remove the mother and babies or the others, or is this nessacary?

All the fish that you have in that tank are possible trouble for the fry, as the aggies probably had quite a few more fry from the spawn, but now only 3 left. What you do next all depends on what your goal is, if you want to raise the fry most of all, then pull all the other fish except the parents and fry.

I agree with farm... if you want babies... separate the other aggies and dither from pair.. if anything, when they are ready to, they'll spawn again and you'll have better chances for more babies. and lastly, CONGRATS! Also, yes(feed the baby aggies baby brine shrimp).
