Small update: the fry is doing well, they're around 6 weeks old now bit still quite small.

Here's a picture of the father who seems to be looking after the fry now:

Yesterday I noticed the female in the cave again, today I saw a pretty big cloud of new fry again... I missed that completely, it's gonna get quite busy in the aquarium...

There's quite some fry growing up of this species now (last week a third nest became freeswimming), the oldest are a little over 3 months old now. At what age can I expect them to be sexable? I have been looking at their tails but they all seem to be roundish, is the spaded shape something that develops later?

Yes, the spade tail develops later. Do not expect the juvenile to be sexable until 6-8 months of age

Thanks Mike, I'll just wait then. It's just that some of them are already quite big, I was hoping they would already be sexable...
