blue apisto

I got this guy about a week ago. He was the only apisto I've seen other than agazzis in the LFSs. It's only about an inch and a half and mostly blue. There is some red/orange in the tail and in pictures some yellow shows up on the cheek. I am new to apistos and would like to figure out what this guy is.

Seems lyk a young Ap.Gephyra to me.I am not an expert but I feel its Ap.Gephyra looking at your fish's pic.

You and TomC are correct. You only have to look at the large number of anal fin spines to see that it is not an Apistogramma. It's a nice little male, too. Hopefully you can find a female for him.

I was completly clueless as I found no photos similar to this guy. Will do more research and hope I can find a female.

Apistogrammoides pucallpaensis

I have a couple and they are a true dwarf. They are peaceful yet can hold their own. Good looking guy you have.
