Black spots on Apistogramma eunotus

[Somethin Fishy]

One of my fish has suddenly come up with a bunch of black spots.. I did read the similar posts in this section but am not sure this is the same.

None of the other Apistogramma eunotus's have these spots yet.

Anybody got any ideas or advice?

I would think it's the same thing -- nothing to be concerned about. From what I've read, there is no "cure", but as far as the health of the fish, there is no detriment.

I agree with Brian. If the fish are behaving normally and eating well I wouldn't worry. Trying to cure the problem probably would cause more problems than letting the fish live with it (since there is no know effective cure).

If the spots were on the fish when you bought it, then they are probably the harmless 'parasite' that arrives with many wild fish. IF the fish was clear of spots and then developed them, the culprit may be skin flukes... which are also pretty harmless, but treatable. Praziquantel knocks it off in short order.

I agree. I ever saw something that looks very much like it on wild Apistos and Praziquantel did the job.
