Does anyone know if these marks get passed on to the next generation?

If it's caused by a parasite are the fry affected?

I haven't seen any posts that state if they do or don't. But I may have over looked one. The fact that these marks are always mentioned in conjuction with wild caught fish, I assume the answer is no. Does anyone know otherwise?

FYI here are shortcut links to 2 threads where these marks were discussed:

Thanks,
Michael

No, they don't get passed along :(

The A. cacatuoides that I bought from wild parents, which the male was covered with these black spots and absolutely gorgeous, did not have any spots.

Hi David,

I know what you mean. I have a female wild cacatuoides that has an interesting pattern of these patches and they look pretty sharp when she is in her bright yellow brooding colors.
