bent over

I have a biteaniata male that was pretty skinny when I got him, along with a female which seems to have recovered and is getting better looking. Anyways, this male is now like bent in half, sideways, and mostly resting on the substrate on his side. His eyes look a little big, but not that much, and he just kind of bounces along the substrate on his side all bent. I haven't seen him eat.

I added some salt and just started a course of broad spectrum anti paracites treatment. Is there any hope for this fish? Anything else I should be doing?

All water parameters are perfect, soft acidic.

I'm sad to say that if it were my fish that I would euthanize it. It is beyond saving. I put my fish in some tank water and put them in the freezer. They slowly 'shut down' and die peacefully.

Hi I agree with Mike, these little beauties are so hard to treat and diagnose, especially at this stage. If the salt bath did not help, I would also say to sadly let him die in peace and in freezer with some water...sorry cheers jk

As above. (Thirded)

Once they get all bent up like that I think its to late. I have never saved one.

I am always curious when people say

My limited experience with bitaeniata is they are easy enough to keep but hard to keep well.
My only success has been with RO/DI water filtered through peat and in an aquarium with oak leaves all through it. The water was pretty much un measurably soft and had a pH in the 5's.
