hi!

this is my first time in taking care of apistos.. i got the apisto cacatuoides double red from a local breeder here in the Philippines. they're about an inch long.. they are currently staying in a 5gallon tank with washout pebbles, some broken claypots and dried leaves to mimic their habitat.. i'll be transferring them in a 20gallon tank though once cycled...

i took some pictures of them so you can see my little angels. :)

The cac's are actually pretty tolerant as far as apistos go! They can stand neutral pH and harder water. They'll even spawn in it! I would suggest to make use of the search function as there is lots of archived data regarding just about every apisto in the hobby here!

From personal experience, I would say to keep an eye on your phosphates, nitrites and nitrates. Apistos in general are pretty sensitive creatures and need clean water! Else they will not do well.

Good luck with your young-ins!!
