This week's guest will be Mr. Christian Moscarell of Amazon Tropical On-Line and we may do some live call-in reports from ACA, throughout the weekend. Chris will be discussing Apistogrammas, so, if you have friends in the hobby who keep Apistos, please make them aware of this broadcast by having them sign-up to receive the newsletter, at: http://www.aquaradio.net/newsletter/subscribe.html

An updated newsletter will go out no later that Friday evening with details about this weekend's schedule

PS Mark, I enjoyed your interview.

May as well keep this going:

Aquaradio.net and the Aqua Media Network is proud to present a discussion on Apistogrammas by Christian Moscarell of Amazon Tropicals On-Line on Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd, via our broadcasts on live365.com

Chris has been keeping and breeding tropical fish for almost 30 years. He is formally employed by one of the country's largest waste-water treatment companies where he has acquired vast knowledge in the science of water pre-treatment.

During his 15 years, working in conjunction with manufacturers to perfect water treatment standards for specific applications, he has been able to translate much of this knowledge into his aquarium keeping skills, affording him the opportunity to create an array of different biotypes for the myriad type of fishes that he keeps and breeds

Chris currently maintains 66 aquariums ranging in size from 15-150 gallons in his fish room. Most of his tanks are planted biotopes that house single species. He is an accomplished and respected breeder of South American dwarf Cichlids, Discus, domestic and wild Angelfish, Corydoras and southeast Asian torrent Loaches. He has the proud distinction of being the first person to breed Schistura cf. balteata in captivity.

Greetings. Aquaradio.net and the Aqua Media Network is proud to present a presentation by Ingo Seidel, noted catfish speaker and author, on Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th, via our broadcasts on live365.com.

Ingo Seidel is currently working for Aqua-Global, a wholesale ornamental fish distributor near Berlin, Germany. He is the scientific assistant to the owner and president Gerolf Jander. We were fortunate to catch up with him while he was in the US for the ACA convention, this past weekend.

Ingo, who is 42 years old (but he looks much younger!) has been keeping tropical fish since early childhood. He started focusing on catfish in the 1980s. While he initially played with Corydoras and Aspidoras, he always had a keen interest in loricariids. This fascination was strengthened by the L-number boom that started in 1989. Ingo has written numerous articles in all of the German ornamental fish journals and co-authored the Mergus Catfish Atlas Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. His latest book "L-number Catfish" published by Back to Nature became a bestseller in several languages.

Ingo is heavily involved in the conservation of plecos from Brazil since many species cannot be exported anymore. With the help of many friends he initiated the formation of an L-number working group. The goal is to maintain and breed these fabulous creatures in the aquarium, so that future generation of hobbyists can enjoy them. Besides catfish, Ingo is interested in about anything that carries fins, so
he has bred many fish species from numerous families over the years.

Ingo talks about pl*co conservation, collecting Suriname, "L-number Days," L046 and a few other topics. It is a great show.

Greetings. This announcement is to let you know that if you were unable to catch Ingo's talk, over the weekend, via live 365.com, it is now up as a podcast, along with all of the other previous shows and may be accessed through the following page: http://www.aquaradio.net/pages/podcasts/

Greetings. AquarRadio.net and the Aqua Media Network is proud to air a presentation by Ted Judy, on the importance of captive spawning in the hobby, on Saturday, August 15th and Sunday, August 16th, via our broadcasts on live365.com.

Ted Judy is a stay-at-home soccer-addicted Dad with a fish room. He is a frequent presenter at aquarium societies, shows and conventions, a prolific writer, adequate photographer and an ambitious breeder of fish. Ted also dedicates a lot of time to the advancement of the hobby through local and national clubs. He is very active in the Milwaukee Aquarium Society, the Madison Area Aquatic Hobbyists and the American Cichlid Association. Ted’s aquatic interests are broad, but there is always more room in his fish room for something cool from West Africa.

Greetings. For those of you who were unable to catch the regularly scheduled broadcasts of Ted Judy’s talk, over the weekend, as well as the update on the MCA Expo 2009, it is now available as a podcast, here: http://www.aquaradio.net/pages/podcasts/podcasts_08_09/ted_judy_08_15_09.html
