Hey guys and gals,

I'm thinking of picking up some Apistogramma rupunini (sp. Boa Vista), and I was just wondering if anyone knows if they're polygamous or monogamous.

Plus any other breeding tips / information would be great.

Thanks,
Sam

I've had A. rupununi on several occasions. Males in captivity are casually polygamous if given excess females, but do well as pairs, too. I found them more difficult to reproduce than A. steindachneri, but much easier than A. hippolytae (their closest relatives). Mine bred successfully in slightly acid (pH 6.5) moderately soft (3º dGH; <2º dKH) Denver tap water. I would expect that they would even do well in moderately hard water (5-10º dGH; 5º dKH).

Hi I didn’t know if you still have any of the Apistogramma Cuipeua?
Would be interested if so.
