Apistogramma masken?

I have bought these as WC A. Apache, and they look like Masken. Is that correct and what sex are they?
One of them has some black spots on the head and one side, does anyone know what this is?

A. sp. Apache is a commercial name commonly used for A. sp. Masken. It looks like you have a pair to me. I must say that the male is unusually dark. I can't say if this is genetic or if the fish has some of the black blotches sometimes seen on apistos from Peru.

Thanks for your help Mike. I have some better pictures showing the female.
I think the female has som blotces too, only much less and smaller.
The male is actually pinkish in colour, depending on mood. He is a puny guy, but displaying he`s heart out to the not so impressed large female. I have put in a coconutcave as I think she is about to be persuaded into spawning:
