I got these wilds from an european importer (the first F0 Apistos I ever worked with) and they came quite in bad shape. After 4 months recovering, eating the best I could give them, these is how they are:
I recently separated a trio in a 120 litre aquarium and after a little more than a week:
... these photos were taken about 2 weeks ago, they are now growin larger and I guess I have near 40 four week old fry. I'll post new photos as soon as I can.
Edit (forgot to say this): one thing I notested is that only one of the females is breeding succesfully... the other one - not the alpha I guess - lays the eggs but ends up eating them... I guess is stress related from being arassed by the alpha female. The male seams no to care at all about what happens, just as long as it's possible to mate
. The tank is one meter long what, according to some literature should be sufficient for two female territories, but as I see everyday, for the alpha femal te territory is the entire tank.
