Hello, what apistogramma is this wild caught male?
I'm between A. macmasteri and A. sp. D50.

I bought them (8) as A. agassizii wild... clearly not.

Pretty sure. Wild type is quite rare, most in the hobby are of a domestic strain. Could also be one of the A. >cf.< hongsloi variations.

No, you didn't. I mean, maybe of the video material, but not of the tankwater. You can still see the colouration of the water. That's what I referred to. Not much you can do about that on film.

It's not hongsloi but rather A. sp. Schwarzkehl/Black-throat (theoretically there are two other possibilities: D29 and D30. But the latter two are from far more remote areas and afaik have not yet been commercially available).

Mostly the shape and width of the lateral band and the missing of a horizontal (black or red) band on the body above the anal fin together with the coloration of dorsal and caudal fin.
