The only Apistogramma known to come from Colombia is A. payaminonis. All other known apistos come from the lower Rio Napo, in the Peruvian part: A. bitaeniata, & A. cruzi. I wouldn't be surprised if A. agassizii, A. cacatuoides, & possibly eunotus-complex form come from this system, too, but so far they have not been reported from there. It should also be noted that the Rio Napo has only been studied in parts of Ecuador & along its lower course in Peru. Many interesting fish could occur in its Peruvian middle & upper course.
