 Hi All. I haven't posted in awhile. I aquired some apistos at least I believe they are apistos sun. The LFS I purchased them from at first called them A bifasciatum later I called them and asked them to spell it for me and they said they were cichlasoma bifasciatum I looked up the name and they are definatly not cichlasomas. I am prety sure they are apistos possibly rotpunkt family. I have some pics would appreciate any help in ID. here are some pics and more are on my photobucket link. Thanks in advance for any help.

Is the larger fish in photo #2 actually as deep-bodied as the picture shows???? In profile the head is more like that of a 'Nannacara' adoketa. The markings, however, are like those of the Rotpunkt Apisto. It is a very strange fish indeed! Any chance that you can send additional photo?

Re to posts

 Thanks all for replys. I also believe they are A.sp redpoint /rotpunkt. There is another LFS here who has some I am trying to get them to look up the invoice since the guy who ordered them is not working there they said he ordered them from peru. Theyr'es are beter looking some have red edges on top and bottom tail fin and more blue spangels in cheeks but are the same as mine.

Thanks Sincerely Curtis

They are most likely a different species. Rotpunkt does not come from Peru (from Colombia) & I've never seen one with red/orange margins on the tail.
