Apisto ID help please

Hey guys. Just got these beauties yesterday.

As im not the most experienced Apisto keeper i was wondering if anyone could help me ID these fish. Macmasteri or Viejita.

Also do i have a male and female pair or two males.

Same here: <http://www.apistogramma.com/forum/index.php?threads/viejita-or-macmasteri.15149/#post-80168>. From what I have seen lately it looks to me like in the UK nearly all the Apistogramma's you see for sale are now males, and usually sold as "pairs".

'Brokeback' pairs are common for Apistos in US as well.

Yeah here in the US nobody wants to sell females if they have any, I had te same thing happen. Bought a dominant and sub dominant males. I've been looking coast to coast and nothing.

Tatooedfool83, is that the only cleu? she is very small, no collors ands a round tail. How sure are you?

no, no stripe. a little dot. def no stripe

The base of the tail has a faint red spot which will eventually be the length of tail. Looks just like my Mac males.

That would be a bomber... we just found out that we have to much male in our tank due to the salesmen. He was sure we bought 4 females and the are now all male
