Apistogramma id and gender conformation

I bought these “Apistogramma Viejita II” yesterday from a store and realized that the top one may be sleeper male, rather then female(top) and male(bottom). Also if anyone has any thoughts on species ID. Second picture is close up of (supposed female)

A macmasteri, commonly sold as some iteration of viejita. Need better pics to get an idea about sexes
I went back to the store and confirmed it was in fact a male, luckily they accepted an exchange, will post update pictures once female settles in.
