Apisto Baenschi

Hello All,
I have successfully bred Apisto Baenschi INKA 50. However all my apistos have washed out coloring. Any thoughts as to what is causing this?

Many possibilities: bright lights, bright substrate, food ...

Would be my guess as well. I like some floating plants and dead leaves/Alder cones to reduce light levels and tint the water.

My suspicion would be that the final factor is the most important one. Try them on something richer in carotenoids, live Cyclops are perfect, but there are dried foods like "Cyclopeeze" that add colour.
