The thought of a sneaker male did come across my mind as well, especially in the earlier stage where it kept running away from the male.

But just a few days ago, the pelvic fins turned black as it guards a certain location of the tank, chasing away the ottos as well as charging towards my camera when I try to take pics.

But I don’t think there is any breeding activities yet as it still accept the male coming into his/her territory. Both will flare at each other.

Here are some picture update of the female. Unfortunately could not get a good shot of the male, still very camera shy.

I have a short video clip of them flaring at the reflection. If the female was a sneaker, would it be as brave?

Poor video quality, you would probably need to increase the brightness to view this video.

Hi Larry, those are soil for planted setup. I have a compartment filled with sera peat to keep the ph low.

Those light brown thingy, they are leftover tubifex worms.

Lastly, I am from Singapore.
