Agassizii skin problem

Greetings,

For a long time that my female A. Agassizii has a skin disease/problem near the tail fin. I don't know what is is or how to treat it.
I've already treated the tank for 7 days with Seachem Paraguard.
She has spawned at least two times, but she has had this disorder way before spawning the first time.

I owned her since November last year, and for all I can remember, this white spot appeared around new year time and has been there since then.

Nevertheless she is healthy, eats with appetite and courts with the male.

What could this be, and how could I treat her?

Thanks

Nuno

Hi Nuno - I'm not sure what that could be but it's surprising that she's otherwise acting normal. That's a rather large effected area. Sorry I'm not of any help. I hope she recovers quickly!

I wonder if it's some kind of nerve damage and not a disease problem. I say this because the black lateral band behind the white patch is unusually large, too. If it's nerve damage and she's otherwise normal then there's not much you can do. Just accept it, like she has. The good thing is that it isn't contagious.

My guess is a slow-growing bacterial infection, and like Mike says it seems to be interfering with the nerves that control skin pigment.
Not knowing what it is, treatment would be a shot in the dark. Just keep her well fed and happy and maybe it will resolve itself. If it turns into an open pink sore, then I would isolate her.
