The version used on both sides of the pond is the 60x30x45cm variant. What dimensions is a 20 tall?
Thanks for the response, I did ask before yes, but I did want to make sure that there would be some somewhat workable species. Would it work better if I heavily planted it with really large decorations for line of sight breaks?Only A. borellii are suitable for longterm housing in such a tank. Far from ideal. You asked before, the answer there stands.
Somewhat, but it really boils down to the unfortunate dimensions of the tank.Would it work better if I heavily planted it with really large decorations for line of sight breaks?
You can rather assume that it applies not only to the different Apistogramma species but to all dwarf cichlids.Assuming I really could not keep any apistogrammas in my 20 tall without issue, would something like nannacara anomala work better?
Much worse; not only are they larger fishes the female with a brood will slaughter the male in such a small aquarium. I've had problerms with a 29 that is densely scaped; i'd recommend a min of a 40 for a pair of nannacara anomala - great fish but more issues will exist. Borelli while not as interesting as a fish are extremely nice looking if you find a quality male.Assuming I really could not keep any apistogrammas in my 20 tall without issue, would something like nannacara anomala work better?
