hi kushka, there are lots of possibilities with a tank that size. if this is your first time, borellii's or cacatuoides would be a good choice, a trio of either (M/F/F) with some other small fish would make a nice tank.
yes, this will be my first cichlid tank. I have had community tanks before & currently have a 30 gallon community tank, cycling this tank, & cycling a tank for Dwarf Puffers. I appreciate the advice & I will check into those fishies.
I think cuckatoos (A. cacatouides) or Bolivians are great to start off with... In fact I have never moved beyond this apart from a very beautiful pair of blue rams, that spawned within 24 hours of getting them, and died within 2 weeks of getting :|
Thanks for all the information. The fish that were suggested are beautifull, I can't wait to get some. The only problem I am haveing now, is findin someone that has this kind of fish.
AquaBid is a good place to start. It's like e-bay, where you can read feedback and see how the sellers previous customers were satisfied (or not). I've ordered from ApistoDave from Oregon and Fishfarmusa from Georgia with good results.
