Today I introduced two Apistogramma agassizii to the tank. Sadly there was only one female in the lfs, or else I would get a second female.

Thanks Mike. I think this wouldn't be a problem, because they already start to defend a specific place in the tank.

Hi all,
How are you getting on with the Chilodus gracilis? They've got some for sale locally (labelled C. punctatus), and I wondered about having a go with them as I believe that they are rarely spawned in captivity.

cheers Darrel

Thanks Sloory.

@Darrel, The Chilodus gracilis are doing well in this tank. Although I only got three of them, I am searching for a few more for in the 2m tank. I want to keep a group of 8 to 10 of them. You can find them searching en grazing for food on wood. It's really nice to see them grazing the whole day. I wonder what there behaviour will be in a larger group.

Hare are some new pictures:

New update:
The 1.60m tank is currently empty. This is because I bought a new tank, 200x60x60cm (720L).
The Pterophyllum scalare "Manacapuru" are swimming at their new owners tank (1.80m). The Nematobrycon palmeri are currently swimming in the 1m Hillstream tank. They seem to like the current in the tank. The Nematobrycon palmeri are also going to someone else. The rest of the fish that where swimming in the 1.60m tank, are now staying in my 1.20m (120x65x60cm) tank that is used now as a temporary tank.

For the 2m tank, I have the following combination of fish in mind:

8 Discus, will be green or Blue discus.
50 Nannobrycon eques
8 Chilodus gracilis
6 Sturisoma sp. aff. festivum
5 Hypoptopoma sp.
2m 5f Copella arnoldi
3m 3f Mikrogeophagus ramirezi
A few Poecilia wingei

Next to this, I want to see if I can place a small group of Taeniacara candidi next to the ramirezi's.

In the temporary tank I have now:
38 Nannobrycon eques
2 Sturisoma sp. aff. festivum
3 Chilodus gracilis
5 Hypoptopoma sp.
1m 2f Mikrogeophagus ramirezi
1m 1f Apistogramma agassizii (going to exchange them for a couple M. ramirezi)
3m 6f Poecilia wingei

Here are some pictures I made of the temporary tank and fish that are swimming in it.

I started with the preparation for the 2m tank.
Based on a DIY aquarium stand design, I decide to make my own aquarium stand.
So here are some pictures of the stand:
Design I made on Google Sketch-up:

And the design I made for the complete aquarium. Needs some adjustment:

Awesome tanks and beautiful fish :) I hope to see the new tank shortly.
Have Poecilia wingei been found in nature also in this biotope? Or it is an your choice? It isn't a critics, it is only a curiosity because I like these fish.

Sorry for my English,
Matteo :)

Hi Matteo,

Thanks.
The Poecilia wingei in this tank was for giving the Pterophyllum some live food. But the Pterophyllum didn't show any interest in the adult P. wingei. Only the juveniles were being eaten.

Yesterday I got my 2m tank. So hopefully I can start decorating the tank before the weekend or else after the weekend.

The tank is running now for a while, and everything is doing well.
Yesterday I got three more Mikrogeophagus ramirezi for this tank.
I also keep two Sturisoma sp. for a friend, who is busy with setting up his 1000liter tank.

Fish in this tank are:
About 80 Nannobrycon eques
8 Sturisoma sp. (4 adults and 4 juveniles)
6 Mikrogeophagus ramirezi
5 Hypoptopoma sp.
3 Chilodus gracilis
A bunch of Poecilia wingei

Here are some pictures:
