Anyone purchased from The Wet Spot Tropical Fish?

Excellent store! By far the best store in Oregon and always have a great selection to choose from. Never fails to give me a "kid in a candy store" type of moment. Highly recommend!

    Nanochromis Transvestitus

I second that. I live in Oregon and the Wet Spot is THE place to go for dwarves and most everything else. Last time I was there they had some nice transvestitus. Good luck!

    Laetacara ________ ?

Thanks!! Great, thank you! That is what I thought, just wanted to make sure because I wasn't 100%. Thank you again!

    Laetacara ________ ?

Hi all, this guy was sold to me as Laetacara curviceps, but has the coloration of dorsigera. Also, the lateral line does not extend throughout the body as in dorsigera. But, the head and body are not as stocky as I thought dorsigera was. I did some research in the Linke book to find out that...

    Bubble Ram

Not what you think I believe that this is simply a tank strain of the regular blue ram that has basically been blown up. It looks like one of those big balloon goldfish, and personally I believe it doesn't look near as cool as the regular ram. I could be wrong, and we could be talking about...

    What species do Apistogramma.com have?

    What are these?

Wow! That was a steal! I can only hope I could get so lucky if I ever have the space for those beauties!

    New Acquisition :)

Thanks! Yeah, I love that aggie too. He is the most common subject of my photos  haha. I was told that he was just a regular domestic double-red variety before...but I have never been really sure about that. Anyone else have opinions? If you search you might find the thread I posted...

    New Acquisition :)

Update... Here's a few more shots of my A. piauiensis male getting used to his new surroundings and definitely enjoying the space and the absence of a less than friendly neighbor! And here's a few shots of my other guys just because, enjoy, and thanks again for the clarification!

    New Acquisition :)

Thanks! Well that sounds good to me haha! Either way it's a really cool fish! I'm glad there's a forum with knowledgable people that can straighten out these Apisto confusions for me. He's starting to be more adventurous now and seems to be trying all the foods. I'll keep you updated and...

    New Acquisition :)

Recently acquired this expensive little guy, but he was definitely worth the price in my opinion. The face sold me. Here's a few pics of him with a Brochis and being "greeted" by my male agassizii. Both will soon be moving into a new and bigger home, but I think this new guy will go first as...

    Stocking advice needed

One more thing! I just thought of another question. I see that you said that your other pair had better colors, I've seen through pictures that rotkeils differ widely in how much red they have in the face. Are there different types of rotkeil, or just each fish shows a different amount of red?

    Stocking advice needed

Nice! Severums are one of my favorites too, that's why I asked! Great pic and man can I not wait to have a pair of those beauties! That's interesting what you said about them being a little shorter in length, and good for me for future tank considerations! Thanks for the reply, that's what I...

    Stocking advice needed

Opinion and question In my far from expert opinion, in fact from what I've gathered from this site, a pair of dosigera and apistos would be too much for a 30 unless you had it heavily planted to break up most of the site lines, I'd probably say a pair of dorsigeras or the adoketas would be your...

    Wow! Absolutely Awesome!

    Breeding pairs in 10G's

I would think so... I would say yes if you provided lots of cover and lots of plants or leaves and such to break up sitelines. I'd say it also depends on which type of fish you want. But, if you're asking me, I'd go for it. I have only 10 gallon tanks at this point as well so I feel where...

    Male A. Cacatuoides problems

How familiar... This sounds exactly like what is going on in my tank right now. This is actually the second time it has happened. The first time I was told it was worms and needed to get levamisol. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to track any of that down and tried my luck with Praziquantel...

    More ;)

A few more pics of a couple of my other dwarves... borellii female ...with hatchet... female (I think?) ramirezi and the tank, with the ram, the borellii female, and my aggie male. All three almost full size, and living harmoniously with dithers. :)

    Aggie Pics

Finally got a chance to take some more pics, and just thought I'd share. This is my male Aggie, he's grown a lot in the last few months, as you can tell from the first picture... to these lol... More to come

    Filter Switch

Thank you both for the help! I think I will just boil the driftwood I want to use and dip the sponge filter in (minus the plastic tube) after it stops boiling, since I am a little wary of using bleach haha. Thanks again, I really appreciate all the help and information I have received since...
