[Pic] My fish room for Dwarf

Fish room Very Nice The neatness and matching tanks in your fishroom makes the hodgepodge of assorted tanks makes mine look pretty bad

    1st Food for L. curviceps

first foods I believe that L. Curviceps and L. Dorsiger fry are very similar in nutritional needs. I have a fair amount of algae in my breeding tank for my Dorsigers and also feed liquifry food and have had success.

    Just out of curiosity.

How many varieties of Pelvicachromis Subocellatus are there? and what are the distinguishing characteristics?

Help try and sex my L. dorsigera

Sexing Dorsigers I have found with my pair that the male is quite a bit larger than the female, and his dorsal fin is more pointed than the females. Also her color is a lot darker and intense than his. Hope this helps.

Breeding care, instinct or learning process?

Brood care I think a lot has to do with the species and how long they have been linebred. If you take Angel fish for example the fancy ones have no idea or inkling how to look after their eggs, they eat them they knock them down, or they eat the wigglers or free swimmers. The instinct is there...

I think my Kribs have finally spawned!

First spawn When my Kribs first spawned they were in my 75g planted tank. I couldn't believe how agressive they got. The male took over the whole tank and killed almost every fish in it. So you might want to keep an eye on it. I have been told that his behavior is not the norm.

I Have Fry, When Do I Feed Them?

Feeding Krib fry The first time mine bred I fed them Wardly's fry food in a squeeze tube, baby brine shrimp and they browsed on the algae a lot. They have now spawned 4 times and I have found that having them in a tank with a fair amount of algae really helps.

    Question on my Kribs

Move the females It is my experience that you should remove the other 2 krib females as they will be harrassed and possibly killed by the pair. This pair you have if they are ready to spawn will be shimmying at each other and going in and out of there cave. But also driving off any other kribs.

Looking for some specific colored kribs

Are they all P. Pulcher, some of the other Pelvicachromis look quite similar and could mistaken. The other thing is what are your water perameters and temperature at?

    Honduran Redpoints

I would have to do another 36g as it is 10mil glass and hard to do cuts. I have enough glass to do 3 more I think.

Spawning? Are they cave or substrate or open spawners?

    deformed ventrals

Deformed It could be caused by inbreeding, I have seen fish that someone was breeding for 4 or 5 generations from the original pair, that were deformed had stunted fins and other things wrong with them.

What south/central cichlids are right for my tank

South Central I would probably go with a pair of Angels for the upper region, and 1 or 2 male rams as well as 6 females for the center region.
