What does MTS's stand for? Usually the best types of fish to go with Apistos are smaller tetra-like species, sometimes corydoras (be careful that the catfish do not get messed with while the apistos are spawning), cherry barbs are ok, small rasboras. Anything that get's bigger then the apistos needs to be watched. Although I have heard of a breeding Apisto female going up against an angelfish before but I wouldn't keep larger fish with them in general. Also no large tetras (black, silvertip, bleeding hearts, columbian blues etc.), no large barbs, catfish, you get the picture.
The mts in my tanks usually started appearing an hour before lights out. Always seemed strange how good their clocks worked. I don't think leaving a light on will help much, but a couple loaches for a couple weeks will take care of the snail problem.
so that might just work. Or I may just put the apistos in the 20l that is empty except for a betta, a bushynose pl*co and 3 platys that just do not like my water even though I have brought the ph up for them. As it turns out I missed out on getting the apistos I wanted so I am waiting again. I was thinking about skunk loaches...would they work?
