Why Haven't They Spawned?

I have had a male and female agassizi set up in a community for almost two months. Use RO water, pH 6.5, hardness undectable with my bad test kit(need to get something better for the lower ranges). Temp 79-80 degrees. Diet frozen bloodwroms, FD tubifex, FD Plankton, occasionally live BS. A little meaty I know, but as of yet my apistos will not accpet flake.

The male is in brilant coloration, and the female is getting rounder by the day, but still no spawning! The male is chasing the female a lot, which may be stressing her out.

Suggestions?

Try bumping the temps up a bit to the 82-84 range. I've done that before with the aggies and it seems to get them started.

Matthew,
If that doesn't work, try a large water-change or two. Water-changes are the cure-all for Dwarf Cichlids. Very clean water is probably more important than any other factor that you can manipulate in your tank. Good luck, Neil

Thanks, Neil. I am leaving for the upcoming weekend, but have been feeding heavily. When I get back I plan to cnotinue feeding heavily for a couple days and then do a large water change with RO water, coupled with a temperature increase.
