Which RO unit?

Currently I got 2 tanks with less that 40 galons capacity so every
week I am going to my grocery store a fill two 5g containers with RO
water from vending machine. I am a little tired of that is it
economical to buy RO unit in such situation? My tap water is hard and
alkaline, do you have any sugestions about type and/or brand?

I believe I just answered your question on the SACSG board but I will answer it again here. I went to www.spectrapure.com and purchased my RO unit. I did err in that I purchased the 25GPD rather than what I said there but this unit is what they call "portable" as it just "snap-connects" to your faucet when needed. I did not order from the website but called their "800" number and they were very helpful and I recieved the unit in less than a week at low shipping cost. Just remember that for every gallon of RO water you get, there will be 5 gallons of water that should be used for other applications. Such as hard water species or garden plants.
