Technically, your fish is not the 'holotype form' of A. eunotus. It is a closely related population/form/species. The true A. eunotus has not been in the hobby for more the 30 years. Nevertheless, your fish behaves, breeds, and needs the same requirements as most other forms presently sold under the name "A. eunotus". Yes, live foods are best, but frozen foods work well too. Most apistos are not really fond of dry flakes or pellets. They can be trained to eat it if that is all there is.
