Hello again, i've bought recently a "A. macmasteri puerto gaitán" pair, but I don't find any information about them, what do you think they could be?
The male show a little more dark marks at the end of the dorsal fin rays with lower light.

It's a macmasteri allright. More red on the shoulder then I would have expected if it was wild caught but I've only seen a few wild ones so perhaps there are more colourful ones out there. The male also looks rather pale, especially in the top image. I think a bit more hiding spots, plants, wood etc and substrate would help them colour up.

yes, they were there for the first day at home, later I moved them to a bigger and better aquarium with a lot of hidding places.

Looks like a domestic strain of A. macmasteri to me.

that´s really a big disappointment, i've paid more for them because i thught they would be another thing...

They were probably sold under the 'Puerto Gaitán' name because that is the name they were given by the supplier. I've seen this name used for domestic strains many times. Puerto Gaitán is a bit 'off the beaten track' for wild macs.
