I think I don't even want to know!! ;) I'm quite jealous of you guys in the jungle. I'm think I'm seriously going to start thinking of going once myself.

Just for the fun of it I'm gonna give it a try guessing, even though I'm not at all good in identifying apisto's...

This is half an hour later:
Pffffff, I can't seem to figure it out. The green ventral fins remind me of pictures of the cruzi but the rest of the fish looks different. I think I see:

A faint lateral spot
No lateral line
Vertical bars in the dorsal part only
Lyrate tale with"nijsseni-colored" edges

I'm using Mike's articles on Tom's website but can't find anything that matches. I would say it's a lyrate-tailed nijsseni group species but I can't find one from Mike's list that matches this fish. I give up...

Please see tbe sticky in the ID section that has the list of usefull information needed when trying to ID a fish and provide as much of the info as possible. Better pictures would also be usefull! :)

But drim what I see the fish look like A. baenschi to me.

Now I'm also thinking it's pantalone, before I thought it could be A. martini but when I enter this in google images I get the same pictures as when I type pantalone...

Im quite surprised at the length of the dorsal fin lappets, they dont look very extended at all in the photo..
Are you calling these A.payaminonis or A.cf.payaminonis?
Well done chaps... Much more success than when Tom and I looked for them in 2010.
Looks like the plans were not "subject to change" and you managed to catch that flight.
Nice surprise Tom as you posted the image on My Birthday :)

It certainly is not a 'walk in the park'!:D BTW my walking pole length was set at 51"/130 cm. I am walking on a submerged log - or at least trying. Always wear nylon trousers; they dry faster.

Can I see Apistogramma sp.Shaly / Roca Fuerte amongst those fishes Tom?
...
Yes, you're right, Mark. We collected the both forms.

Copella guttata ??
No, this is another species, Ste. It for sure would be nice to bring a few back!
You're probably right about the Copella.

Speaking of fish like these:
After having collected Nannostomus marginatus in numerous locations, I finally found a form I've been looking for the last 6 years without success; The Nannostomus marginatus with a red blotch between the primary and secondary stripes on the caudal peduncle at the base of the caudal fin. This form was named "Nannostomus marginatus picturacus" by Hoedeman in 1954, and considered a subspecies of the original.
I was very happy when we found them in two different locations, very far away from each other:
