I have what I believe to be true wild caught Viejita... I also have macmasteri 'red back' and these definitely look different.. Any thoughts??

Hard to say by seeing only one photo. Still, it doesn't look like A. viejita to me.

I agree with Mike. Imo your fish might not even be a macmasteri-group species, it could likely be an eunotus-subcomplex species, e.g. one of the A. cf. eunotus forms.
