I know a 10gallon is quite small for a trio.If the male was removed after spawning would the two females be Ok together? The two females are sisters, same size and were added at the same time so at least right now neither is dominate.the tank is moderately planted with caves and wood.

Not a good idea, IMHO. The female with fry would probably kill (or at least try) the other female. You would be safer removing the other female with the male.
