Thoughts on moving my male panduro

I recently lost the female, they've been paired for around a year, he's around 2yrs old. Pretty docile as far as docile panduro go.. I'd like to use the 20 long for a pair of apisto vieja (probably macs, I'd thread to follow). I've put him up for adoption but so far the only inquiry was someone wanting him for an oscar tank.... would he do ok in a 20 tall with a female ram and some tetras and corys or am I crazy? Tank is 80°. I'd take him to the lfs but they don't have any at the moment and feared he would die alone in a tank as did I.
