Tetras as dither fish in a breeding tank

What tetras will work as dithers instead of pencilfish? Was looking at tucanos, embers, or cardinal tetras. Will any of these work?

Tucano work well, heck, they don’t even eat their own fry. Cardinals are terrorists, you won’t have fry for long…

Embers work ok as well - not sure they would go after the fry if i remove the parents but with the parents they never go near them...
