Hello,

My trifasciatas (2males & 5 females) are currently raising their 4th clutch in the tank. The tank is consistantly heated to 26 degrees and sparsely planted with a volleyball sized clump of java moss on one side. The plants are basically 3 small java ferns, a red wend., and a few banana plants. Standard sponge filtration is used. The substrate is natural colored/sized gravel found at any lfs. Running pure RO the ph overall is normally at 5,5-6,0. The Trifasciatas are extremely happy in this very soft, acidic water and the babies are growing fairly fast for trifasciatas... as for spawning caves I use three 2inch clay pots. I have found clutches on the java fern leaves, on the banana plant leaves, and only one clutch has been laid in the pot! well, they are still young and the clutches are still small (ave. 20/clutch) but I'm sure they'll get get much much larger as all the females mature more. good luck! and your male is exceptionally beautiful!
